An Oasis Amidst the Chaos

Las Vegas is full of fun activities ranging from casinos to restaurants to nightclubs and everything in between. This desert city contains all kinds of parks with desert landscape, but Floyd Lamb Park is a bit different. With a grassy lawn, cottonwood trees and a pond, the park may seem out of place, but it’s a true oasis in the city.

The park provides many features including:

  • •    Picnic Areas with Barbecues
  • •    Volleyball
  • •    Horseshoe Pits
  • •    Scenic Trails
  • •    Four Stocked Ponds
  • •    Plenty of Wildlife
  • •    And More!

Fish in the ponds or just enjoy a little quiet in the city that never sleeps.

Tule Springs Ranch

Another attraction of the park is Tule Springs Ranch. This is one of the best Pleistocene paleontologist sites in the western part of the continent. The area was home to many large prehistoric mammals many years ago and plenty of fossils still exist here today. Fossils from bison, camels, sloths, mammoths, horses and more are often found throughout the area.

Park Information

Found about 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, this is an escape many locals enjoy. The park is open from 8am to 8pm daily from May to August and from 9am to 5pm daily from September to April.

Admission to the park is $6 per vehicle or $1 per person, whichever is greater. Annual passes can be purchased for $45 and provide access through the end of December.

Whether you bring the entire family for a picnic and some fun outdoor activities or you come by yourself to enjoy quiet fishing, Floyd Lamb Park is an escape everybody will enjoy. Filled with nature you won’t find in many other areas around Las Vegas, this is truly a unique park amidst the typical desert setting found throughout most of the area.
