Las Vegas offers some of the best retirement communities, also known as age restricted, in the nation and is on track to become the top destination for seniors to retire by 2030. Many age restricted communities in the Las Vegas Valley boast resort-like amenities that provide great opportunities for active adult lifestyle including community centers, fitness facilities, tennis courts, golf courses, ballrooms, pools, and spas.

Sun City Summerlin

Sun City Summerlin is a 2,400-acre age-restricted community in Las Vegas. It was built by an American real estate developer Del Webb in 1999 and has since become the largest age-restricted community in the Las Vegas Valley.

All residences of the community must have at least one occupant of the age of age 55 or older and no permanent resident under age of 19. Sun City Summerlin has close to 8,000 homes ranging from free-standing homes from 1,100 square foot to 3,000 square foot to townhouses from 1,000 square foot to 1,800 square foot.

Sun City Summerlin is known for its state-of-the-art facilities, trails, community centers and golf courses. The community lacks active new construction, and therefore, resales generally occur fast.

Sun City McDonald Ranch

Sun City McDonald Ranch is a sister community of Sun City Summerlin that has single-family and townhomes.

Built by Del Webb at the foothills of the Black Mountain, it features a sprawling community center with fitness room, tennis courts, card rooms and hobby rooms. In addition, residents of Sun City McDonald Ranch have a chance to play golf at the Desert Willows Golf Course that was designed by Billy Casper and Greg Nash.

The community is a short distance away from the Las Vegas Strip and McCarran International Airport. The majestic view of the Las Vegas Valley that opens from the hills of Sun City McDonald Ranch accentuates the community’s premier location.

Sun City Anthem

Sun City Anthem is another Del Webb Sun City project in Las Vegas perched in the foothills of the Black Mountains. The community was constructed between 1998 and 2008 and is home to 7,144 homes making it one of the largest active adult communities in the Las Vegas area.

Sun City Anthem offers many housing options such as villas, single-family homes, and townhomes.

The jewel of the community, Revere Golf Club is a beautiful mountain golf course that offers panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley and the nearby mountain ranges. The golf club features practice facilities and a 23,000-square-foot clubhouse with a pro shop and a restaurant, Buckman’s Grille.

The community is a home to three clubhouses and over 50 clubs and interest groups. A recently completed 75,000-square-foot recreation center has fitness rooms, pools, tennis courts and bocce ball. It also features computer labs and card rooms.

Sun City Aliante

Sun City Aliante is Del Webb’s newest active adult community situated in the far north of the Las Vegas Valley as part of the Aliante master-planned development. It’s set to be the smallest of all Sun City developments with just over 2,000 homes. This age restricted community is the most affordable out of all the Sun City locations.

Some of the amenities in the community include a community center, a fitness center, an 18-hole Aliante Golf Course, tennis court, and an indoor pool.

The Aliante Casino and Hotel is located across the street from the community.

Promenade at the Meadows

The Promenade is a relatively small gated retirement community that was built between 1988 and 1990 and has 188 homes. Buyers can choose from townhomes and single-family homes available on a resale basis. All homes within the community are single-story and typically have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage.

Residents enjoy community clubhouse that has a hobby and game room, card tables and billiards and kitchen. The clubhouse also has an outside pool and shuffleboard courts.

It is located off Meadows Lane and South Decatur Boulevard. The community is just south of Interstate-95 providing easy access to Meadows Mall and McCarran International Airport.

Promenade at the Meadows is located in close proximity to stores, restaurants, and world-class entertainment. The famous Las Vegas Strip is only 15 minutes away from the community.

Los Prados

Los Prados is a retirement community on the northwest side of Las Vegas. Unlike other retirement communities in Las Vegas, Los Prados has a family section and an age restricted area.

Los Prados features 1,358 single-family homes situated nearby a picturesque golf course, clubhouse, pools and tennis courts. Although active construction in the community commenced in 1998, a variety of resale homes with two to four bedrooms are available for buyers.

Los Prados also features a clubhouse with a multitude of recreational activities. The facility has many multi-purpose rooms for community activities and events, a gathering room, a library, and restaurant. The facility also has outdoor pools and tennis courts. Nearby walking and biking trails offer scenic views. Los Prados allows RV parking.

The 18-hole Los Prados Golf Course that was designed by Jeff Hardin is owned by the Los Prados Community Association.

Los Prados is 20 minutes north of the Las Vegas Strip, providing a quick access to world-class entertainment. The community’s close proximity to Interstate-15 allows for a short commute to any destination in the Las Vegas Valley.

Siena

Siena is a 665-acre guard-gated community on the southern end of Summerlin on the west side of Las Vegas.

Siena is an active adult community in Las Vegas within the master-planned community of Summerlin. Built around a public 18-hole championship golf course complete with Lake Siena, gurgling waterfalls, and lush gardens, Siena offers a tranquil atmosphere minutes away from the entertainment capital of the world.

Siena offers 2,001 resale homes at different price points. Homebuyers who are looking to make Siena their home can choose from single-family homes and villas with various floor plans.

The village is a home of the Siena Golf Club and its 15,000-square-foot clubhouse with a golf shop and several eateries. The 18-hole golf course that was designed by the golf course design team of Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley offers discounts to residents of Siena. The community’s water features combined with the mountain backdrop make for a captivating landscape that golf players at Siena Golf Club have come to enjoy.

It is located less than a mile away from Interstate-215 and is bordered by Tropicana Avenue to the south and Flamingo Road to the north. It’s only a 20-minute drive away from McCarran International Airport and the famed Las Vegas Strip.

Solera at Stallion Mountain

Solera is an age-restricted community in the Black Mountains within the master-planned community of Anthem.

Designed by Del Webb, this community is situated close to Sun City Anthem’s Revere Golf Club, which includes two public golf courses that are integrated into the canyon lands of the desert at the foothills the Black Mountains.

Residents of Solera at Stallion Mountain enjoy clubhouse that has a fitness center, outdoor pool, and multi-purpose rooms for hobbies and games. Solera at Stallion Mountain’s one-story ranch homes is available in five models. The designs include two or three bedrooms and attached two-car garages, and they are set amid fully landscaped grounds

Solera at Stallion Mountain offers one-story single-family homes. The five-floor plans found throughout the community range in size from 1,155 to 1,716 square feet and are designed with two to three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage.

Solera offers Energy Star homes that help to keep utility bills low, and some homes offer a casita option.
